Meet new friends, singles, and outdoor sports enthusiasts near you! Come join the Fort Collins Social and Sports Club if you're looking for fun and would like to make new friends.
This group is perfect if you're single and new to the area, or a couple looking to get out and meet new people. We'll have a mix of everything, including Social gatherings for singles and couples as a mixed group, group activities for the outdoor enthusiast, dinner gatherings, game nights, ski trips, wine tastings and whatever else you can come up with. All ideas are welcome!
We want the people in this group to help drive what is needed out of a social club, and not to necessarily focus on just one thing. We would like to see a club that is enjoyable for all.
Thanks for your interest in the group, and I hope all members that join can help make this a success.
See you at the next event!
Hiking! I am looking for avid hikers who might be looking for other avid hikers to hike with, in the Ft Collins/Loveland/RMNP/Poudre Canyon/Lyons area. I like to keep moving and keep a moderately fast pace while still enjoying the scenery, stopping occasionally to take a picture. Mileage would be 5 - 10 - 20? Difficulty would depend on where you are at as a hiker. If you are a beginner, some of our hikes will seem difficult to you. If you have some experience, some would be moderate, some easier, some a little harder. Check out the "About Us" page to read more.

If you are looking to have some fun we have a variety of events that our fantastic organizers put together. Hope to see you soon!

This group was started in the early summer of 2010. Yoga can be an expensive venture, and I firmly believe that there should be some possibilities to explore and enjoy this ancient practice without the financial strain. My vision was to create a place where people could come and share the experience, integrate yoga in to their lives, learn something new, and have some fun.
The classes (2-3 per week, on average) really are Free. There are opportunities to donate to the group or to local charities, but this is NEVER a requirement. There are occasional times when Paid Classes are offered, when there is something fun and exciting going on, but again, it is always the members choice.
I believe in the power of community, and that when people come together to benefit the greater good, beautiful things will happen.
I believe in the power of Yoga to heal, strengthen, and nourish the body and the mind.
I believe in a lighthearted and open approach to the experience this group has and will offer to all of the yogis and yoginis who join.
Since it began, Free Yoga has expanded exponentially. There are now 5 (and counting) beautiful individuals who teach the classes for free (all are Certified Yoga Instructors, FYI). There are over 100 members who participate and contribute in so many ways. We are constantly in search of new venues and opportunities to make the Free Yoga group better every day. We have some really exciting possibilities coming in the future and welcome anyone with a love, curiosity, and openness to what this group can bring into their lives.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions!!
New Policy on No-Shows:
If you sign up for a class, you are expected to show up. It is incredibly rude and inconvenient to the teachers who are offering these classes for free. Regular yoga classes in Ft Collins generally cost $10-15 per class and you are being offered this for free. Please respect the offering by attending when you say you will. So.
If you sign up for a class and do not attend three times, you will be removed from the group. I don't want to have to keep track of this, and it makes more work for me, but since it is a continuing issue, this is how it has to be. Please remember to sign in before class, as this is how I will be tracking no-shows. It sounds ugly, but has to be done. I welcome any feedback on this!
Disclaimer: By attending events sponsored by this group, you are agreeing to the following:
I understand that yoga includes physical movements as well as an opportunity for relaxation, stress re-education and relief of muscular tension. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. If I experience any pain or discomfort, I will listen to my body, adjust the posture and ask for support from the teacher. I will continue to breathe smoothly.
Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment. Yoga is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical conditions. I affirm that I alone am responsible to decide whether to practice yoga. I hereby agree to irrevocably release and waive any claims that I have now or hereafter may have against Be Here Now Massage. Digital Gunslingers and Ethical Entrepreneurs bring common sense back to the web and in business by promoting and practicing the virtues of honesty, transparency, authenticity, credibility, accountability, integrity, and humility. We believe that social media is not a silver bullet - it's not for everyone or perfect for every situation. We believe that business should support the community, the employees, and the customers as their primary assets. You have to start with the right mentality and a plan. That's where we come in. The purpose of the Digital Gunslinger MeetUp group is to provide simple and free or low-cost Social Media education and training, promote Social Media events, and highlight the best of the online community. We also teach on the principles of Entrepreneurship - financial, project management, and other worthwhile and useful skill sets to have in business. Most classes are $1, the money goes to pay for the cost of the MeetUp Group ($72/6mos). Once that cost is met, we donate the rest to charity. The charity is chosen by the group once we reach $50. If you're unemployed, the classes are free. We meet weekly for fun and for knowledge - discussions are welcome, dissent is encouraged.

This is a group for Foodies of all kinds. For those who enjoy dining out, dining in, coffee, wine, recipes and foods of all kinds. For those who may not be familiar with the definition of a foodie, here are a few:
1. A person who has an ardent or refined interest in food; a gourmet.
2. (Cookery) a person having an enthusiastic interest in the preparation and consumption of good food.
3. A person devoted to refined sensuous enjoyment (especially good food and drink).
While I would expect to have some members who just enjoy dining out with others, the aforementioned "Foodie" is the ideal member and a true source for the ultimate purpose for our gatherings. Rather than dining out all the time, I envision getting to know people and having, or being invited to, hosted dinner parties. We can all save a bit of dining cash and have a lot of fun in the process.
As for me, I have gotten my inspiration to start this group from a number of different sources. Personally, I enjoy the foods of "The Mediterranean Diet", (www.mediterraneandiet.gr) and I like the principles of healthy eating outlined by the "Oldways Preservation Trust", (www.oldwayspt.org). I think it would be great to share these interests with other people as well as just meet for dinner once in a while.
Obviously I enjoy cooking. One of the things I bring to the table, so I have been told, is an awesome Chicago style deep dish pizza as well as delicious and healthy Greek food.
I look forward to your involvement.
Please have a close look at our "Pages" for an outline of different levels of group involvement.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concern regarding the information on this page.

The goal of this group is to get professionals and dedicated, serious photographers together. Digital photographers are welcome, as are shooters of view cameras, film, lomo, medium format, digital back, pinhole, etc. This group is not intended for beginners. While this group is intended as a learning tool, we won't be going over the basics of photography, or the basics of using cameras and equipment.
Discussion of fine art, trends, commercial work, stock shooting, photo journalism, business strategies, exhibition and gallery experiences, techniques, and equipment are all fair game. Critiques, group shoots, workshops / seminars, and portfolio reviews are always in the works, so keep coming back for more!
It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.

Welcome to Colorado CHRONIX Medicinal Cannabis Community, one of the most in-depth, patient support, activism and medical marijuana reform websites, and Medical Marijuana Cooperative Collectives serving Colorado since 2007 (establishing the Colorado CHRONIX website online in early 2008).
RECENT STUDIES - AUGUST, 2011
(BELOW) The picture of a patient which I recently took on 08/02/2011, illustrates the typical initial onset of a 'pilonidal cyst' on a patient. Painful cysts such as these are common in patients who are bed-bound & forced to lie in any one position, for more than several hours at a time, or as the result of a chronically ingrown hair in that region. This photo was taken immediately after the patient began having pain in that region and noticed the typical 'bump' which is generally located right at the base of the tailbone (coccyx).
Five days shortly thereafter, on 08/07/2011 as you can see below, the cyst began to become extremely inflamed and most obviously, very painful for the patient:
FOUR DAYS AFTER APPLYING HEMP OIL..:
* NO DANGEROUS, SURGICALLY INVASIVE INTERVENTION WAS REQUIRED. *
...Cannabis' stunning anti-inflammatory efficacies, it would most certainly appear, are quite markedly obvious.
But don't just trust me, or don't even trust your own eyes from seeing the above pictured data for that matter.
Trust the government. (Ahem), yes, ours.
It's actually no wonder, especially when you see the above example of results that patients are achieving themselves with Hemp Oil (which you must be a licensed MMJ patient or caregiver to legally use or dispense to your own patients and NOT to be confused with commercial over-the-counter Hempseed Oil), that our own US Government took out it's very own patent on cannabinoids (one of the naturally occurring substances in the cannabis plant), for their use as antioxidants in treating ischemic, age-related inflammatory autoimmune diseases and are have been discovered to have particular applications as neuroprotectants, in limiting the often devastating neurological damage following such ischemic insults as strokes, trauma, or to be used in the treatment of such horrendously devastating neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia.
(Click here to view the United States governments patent on marijuana's cannabinoids)
It is very important for all responsibly involved mmj patients to carefully review the various groups who have all filed 2011 ballot initiatives recently, as it is their policies will ultimately be the ones that dictate the future of cannabis regulation in Colorado.
RECENT 09/01/2011: Thanks to our relationship with our friends at the highly acclaimed MedicalSeedbank.com, all Colorado CHRONIX Members are eligible for our 20% medical discount coupon code to use on any genetics you choose from their vast array of phenomenal strains...! Interested patient members e-mail DOC for the most currently valid coupon code.
There are plenty of educational opportunities inside, if you are so inclined, to observe as DOC uses three different forms of computerized digital microscopy to literally take you inside the plant, & elaborate never-before revealed growing methodology & techniques for legal patients...! All of which to help you to more fully understand the inner workings of this botanical miracle, as it continues to become legal in more & more states (nearly twenty now) due to its highly reported successful medicinal roles as a much, much safer analgesic alternative than narcotic prescription painkillers or even (and especially) Tylenol -It is estimated that acetaminophen (Tylenol) poisoning results in at least 56000 injuries, 25000 hospitalizations, and 450 deaths every year & the U.S. Acute Liver Failure Study Group found that acetaminophen poisoning is the leading cause of liver failure in the nation, accounting for approximately half of all cases. Some of these instances of liver failure occur even when following the dosage recommendations printed on the bottle...!
Find out how DOC went from analog (regular) cigarettes to digital (electronic nicotine atomizers or more commonly - 'e-cigarettes') and quit smoking 2.5 packs daily, on the same day... Additionally, a 'digital', or e-cigarette uses no tobacco or flaming, burning products to inhale, just nicotine, flavoring and water vapor that both feels & tastes like the real thing - with no lingering odors or second-hand smoke (since there's no first-hand smoke to begin with) so the devices can be puffed on literally*anywhere*. It can also be freely utilized regularly in local restaurants, office buildings and shopping centers like Wal-Mart, etc. with virtually no problems, since cigarette laws do not pertain to them and reiterating, they emit no smoke, just harmless water vapor. It is far more affordable than the cancerous tobacco cigarettes, as well. Highly recommended for all those who enjoy vaping (whether it be high, medium , low, or even no nicotine) and the devices also work excellent for medicating with your favorite hash oil. We have been impressed with the great service we get from www.NicotineNirvana.com myself, so much so that we've listed them as a sponsor.
Read more inside about our 'unofficial' case study of the effects of cannabis-extracted Hemp Oil on a patient with multiple cancers, brain and liver tumors (including a variety of different, more potent alternatives to Hemp Oil preparations & all other (some little known) forms of essential oil extractions)...!
Also inside Colorado CHRONIX, learn which strains of cannabis work better for certain conditions. DOC recommends using & gives a shout of kudos out to www.Leafly.com for their interactive Periodical Table of Cannabis, where you can simply press which buttons that best correspond with your own unique medical symptoms, and Leafly.com's proprietary system will give you an immediate best recommendation by suggesting for the strain that matches you most, according to your inputted needs. You've really got to check it out for yourself.
All legal patients in the state of Colorado should have access to a large variety of Medicinal Strains, Edibles, Rooted Clones, Seeds, Security, etc., simply ask and we can point you in the right direction...!
Discover safer methods for patients who wish to learn the art of extracting Hemp Oil from cannabis (which is NOT available in stores & NOT to be confused with commercially produced Hempseed Oil, which while healthy and available for over-the-counter sale - is NOT the same by ANY means) for medicinal purposes and much, much more.
The Obama Administration has publicly stated that our government will not continue to persecute/prosecute medical patients in states that have enacted their own voter-supported mmj laws, although they still refuse to deal with the issue on a Federal level and as such, ethically controversial raids on entities who provide patients with safer access to their medicine are currently still ensuing.
It's time to end the needless suffering and expose the 'actual truths' about this herb that soothes so many's pain, yet gets so many others needlessly thrown into our already overcrowded prison system for.
We sincerely thank the states who have their own voter-enacted medical marijuana laws. Overflowing gratitude to the compassionate states who allow it and urgent pleas go out on behalf of all those suffering and forced by whatever personal constraints they may have, to reside within the non-compassionate ones who currently do not.
There is (currently) no, under any circumstances, exemption from criminal liability with regards to medical marijuana under Federal Law until such time as the federal government inevitably bows to the Will of The People and reschedules cannabis as the accepted medicine it already is, and has been used as, for thousands of years...
How I Became a Cannabis Patient
I worked assisting in the operating room as a surgical technician/first assistant for most of my adult life before one night after leaving the hospital, I stopped at a convenience store when suddenly I found myself being shot point-blank in the chest, an innocent victim of a violent crime.
I first applied for Social Security Disability in 2004 and have been battling the corrupt system, which was more than happy to *take* my money for years, having just recently been denied for my third and final appeal - since I am a legal medicinal cannabis patient.
The Crime Victim's Compensation Fund, yet another governmental entity operating under the guise of assisting people who truly need help -without discrimination - actually regularly discriminates with reckless abandon, as illustrated by their most recent letter to me, which included the following disturbingly biased statement:
'... catastrophic funds are not available for ongoing medical care which includes, but is not limited to, doctor appointments, prescriptions to include narcotic and non-narcotic analgesics, medical marijuana, hospitalization, surgery, physical therapy, and the purchase and cultivation of marijuana plants.'
Honestly, I'm curious as to what exactly it is that they *do* cover, for crime victims who have been completely incapacitated.
The bullet is still lodged over my left lung and causes chronic burning & pain with deep, tortuous muscle spasms, along with various other symptoms rendered by the neuropathic damage I received as the victim of violent crime. However, it also does give me the unfortunate ability to relate & sympathize to a great degree with the numerous other seriously ill patients going through many of the same or similar circumstances in their own lives, and is the reason I originally set up Colorado CHRONIX.
If not for the guidance of phenomenal people such as Keith Stroup, founder of NORML, and other influential leaders within this industry that I have been blessed to meet throughout my journey, it would not have been possible to help all of the people that I have been able to help, and to them I am forever grateful. Some of the kindest people you will ever meet, you will find working to further the cause of legally utilizing cannabis for it's numerously multifaceted applications.
Currently, due to my worsening neuralgia and associated other complications secondary to having this bullet located in my chest, I have not been able to be nearly as active in the Movement as I was when first helping patients back in 2007, but do keep Colorado CHRONIX and the website, with all of its information up & going as much as I can, as well as beginning to bring on several new Assistant Organizers to help keep things interesting with the constantly changing new information that we, as Colorado patients and/or caregivers, are being constantly deluged with.
It has always been my wish to assist both new & old patients alike as I have been so fortunate to have done, with their own explorations into the legal medicinal usage of cannabis, since without the usage of this naturally-occurring plants substances myself, I and countless others who legally find it to be an incomparable, peaceful solace in the throes of their illnesses would have literally no quality of life whatsoever.
Please do not hesitate to send any inquiries to me at any time and I will do my best to continue to assist all mmj patients, in whatever capacity that I can.

Please join us for the next adventure - it could be hiking, snowshoeing, a full moon hike, rafting, a hut trip, or maybe an evening of indoor rock climbing. This group was primarily started to be a hiking and snowshoeing group for all abilities, but has expanded to include all the events just mentioned.
This group is for hikers and adventurers of all abilities, from Beginner to Advanced. We will try our best to provide a wide variety of hikes to accommodate all abilities. Although a majority of our hikes are in Rocky Mountain National Park and in the Poudre Canyon where there are hundreds of trails, we do try and schedule several hikes up Colorado's 14'ers during the summer months. We welcome outdoor adventurers from all the surrounding areas including Loveland, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont, Cheyenne, and Denver.
The Northern Colorado Adventurers activities may involve certain risks inherent with the activities that we do such as hiking, snowshoeing, rock climbing, rafting, canoeing and other adventures. You must post a clearly identifiable photo of yourself to be accepted as a member in order for us to know who you are since we almost always carpool. All membership is subject to verification over the phone or in person at one of the events.
One of the intentions of this group is to have members that are active, keep the size of the meetup events at a reasonable number based on the number of organizers leading each event, and to develop friendships and camaraderie. In order to accomplish this and make it effective, all members are required to attend at least one event every 6 months. This helps the organizers keep familiar with the needs of the members and encourages everyone to be active. All members are encouraged to suggest events to the organizers in order to generate new ideas and continue to allow us to explore new adventures!
Note: 10/16/2011; In August 2011 we opened up the membership of this group to new members. At the same time, we removed members who had not participated in any event in the last 6 months. The net effect of all this is that we are now back up to membership levels where we want to be, given the number of Organizers that we have and keeping the group size of our activities at a reasonable number. Membership to Northern Colorado Adventurers will re-open again in the Spring of 2012.

I Empower Potential through Authenticity and Possibility! My mission is to Empower, Inspire & Validate ALL women to remember, believe & own their greatness! I was inspired to form this group by a mom of a potential participant for my teen workshops. Women today out almost everyone else before ourselves. We have forgotten that we come first in our lives and that if we don't we soon run out of anything to give to those we love. We teach others (including ourselves) how to treat us, and they are treating us badly - often by our own example! Spend this time once a month with an amazing group of your peers in a safe-space. We will share feely and openly the challenges that we are facing as women today. You will have the opportunity to be coached by a master facilitator to reach new heights of joy & fulfillment in your life!
We are a group of Northern Colorado business owners who are consciously creating our businesses and our lives. Every other week is dedicated to an interactive activity designed to form relationships in the group. On the other weeks, we have a speaker with the intention we will learn something to help the energy surrounding our health, wellness, spirituality, business and relationships.
The Fort Collins Improv group is for people who are interested in learning more about Improv - come join us! Every Sunday night at the Art Lab in Fort Collins, we get together to be spontaneous! Every level is welcome; we love to have fun and to laugh together. Everybody participates and everybody has fun - no one feels left out or embarrassed! We go through a wide variety of games, scenarios, and skits to build up our expertise in spontaneous, improvisational thinking, acting, singing, talking, speaking, falling, laughing, and juggling geese. Worried? Nervous? Don't be! Just show up and have a good time with us - you won't be disappointed! Photo credit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mirka23/3256775503/
Single parents have one of the toughest jobs out there! It requires sacrifice, balance, patience, energy, compromise, forgiveness, and lots of time and money. So why take this journey alone? Come join us! We strive to plan activities that are budget-friendly and fun for all. Between Kids Eat Free nights at restaurants, Parents' Nights, all the fun festivals that our region has to offer, physical activities that wear the little ones out, potlucks and more, you are sure to find something to do!
Our group is comprised of families of all shapes and sizes. We have separated, divorced, and never-married parents. Some are widowed, and some are single by choice. Some are experiencing the fresh wounds of a break-up, and some have been single for a long time. We have children anywhere from the toddler years to teens. Some bounce between houses with regularity, and some have only one parent. Some have special needs or have been adopted. And we are all geographically spread out.
What we have in common is a deep love for our children and desire to give them the best life possible. Our kids find comfort in having friends in similar situations and going as a group to places that are often filled with "nuclear" families. Our parents enjoy having companions who understand how thin we are stretched and who give us room to gab, grieve, and grow.
You can attend our meetups once a week or once every six months - whatever you are comfortable with. But take advantage of this valuable resource - your kids and your sanity will thank you :).
Hey ladies, welcome to the Fort Collins Ladies Club! I think it's really important to surround yourself with strong women who understand how awesome it is to be a female while at the same time realizing what a pain in the butt it can be! Let's go out for dinner or drinks. Maybe a night out dancing with the girls! Or a simple potluck so we can just talk about our lives and encourage our female friends to succeed in everything they do!
Welcome! Welcome! There is nothing better than raw organic living foods. Our group is social with regular rawlucks, hosts educational opportunities, including demos and taste testing, etc. Looking forward to meeting you and sharing this journey of raw cuisine together!
This is a MeetUp where local ballroom and social dancers can meet. We'll announce upcoming events and give feedback on past events, so you know what to expect next time. Expect to see information on all the ballroom dances plus salsa dances and swing dances.
We may also have information on instructors in the Fort Collins area with a testimonials section about that instructor.
MeetUp events will be of two venues. Primarily we'll meet at dances. Occasionally we'll have other meetings were we just gather at a restaurant or coffee shop and talk about dancing, or whatever comes up.
I look forward to seeing you on the floor.

Winning success in small business means continually improving the basic building blocks any business must have to make it, basics such as defined business functions, measurable accountabilities for the people and various systems of management (you know, the kind of systems that have to operate between peopleÂ’s ears before they can ever work on a computer). Once you put one of the building blocks in place, you have to change it, because conditions have changed.
Join us as we band together to deal with the latest shell shocks and figure out a better way. A new business topic is presented in each workshop to learn from (or throw rocks at!)
Check out the MESSAGE BOARD, CALENDAR for notes or scheduled events for volunteering opportunities! I will also post infomation on the message board so be sure to check that from time to time.
From the Heart was created to provide an avenue for those who wish to volunteer in their community through a variety of ways. I am passionate about serving the communities we live in, whether it be by helping a neighbor who is down on their luck, helping animal shelters, volunteering at a large event or assisting in helping an organization raise awareness. I hope through our members we can bring compassion to our fellow neighbors whether they be next door, across the street or in another town.
So if you are called to help, please join and be apart of making a difference in the world.
Welcome,
I'm Shawna Gauger. I'm a lifelong entrepreneur and entrepreneurial energy is my absolute favorite kind. I created Connecting to Greatness because I wanted to promote a fun, productive, and rewarding networking experience for those driven to succeed!
Connecting to Greatness is a different kind of networking group. Instead of simply throwing people into a room with no focus or no common goal, we strive to enlighten professionals on ways to network more effectively and build their business more authentically. We want our attendees walking away from our gatherings with insight on what to do with all the business cards they've collected and how to cultivate powerful alliances with those they meet. And we want to give our attendees the insights to grow the kind of business success they've always dreamed of.
Events will be hosted every two to three weeks. Some events will be 'mix and mingle' with a structured activity as its focal point. Networking activities will include Wine and Dessert events, presentations given by inspiring leaders in the world of success building; and occasionally, we will also run our 'Speed Networking for Professionals' events. These highly structured gatherings can be VERY productive ways to make new connections. Yet another opportunity to connect will be through our Virtual Networking opportunities...networking convenience at its finest
Come out and join us at our next Connecting to Greatness event. We attract a wonderful and inspiring group of Colorado area professionals. I look forward to meeting you!

Our vision is "The evolution of unity consciousness and the opening of minds, hearts and souls to expanded ideas, paradigms and understandings." Topics include Spiritual Philosophies and Teachings, Healing Modalities and Research Findings, as well as Spiritual, Psychic and Paranormal Phenomena, Reincarnation, Quantum Physics, Ancient Civilizations and more.
Psi is a Greek letter meaning paranormal. The letter psi is also the root meaning to psychic and psychology, both of which are expressions of the paranormal. The name SPRE reflects its purpose in exploring the science underlying the paranormal and bringing credibility to the study of such events as well as doing the same for natural or holistic healing.
We meet with other people who are interested in consciousness and the new paradigm that's emerging. We share a common desire to raise the consciousness and awareness of our planet. We raise our awareness and consciousness through discussion, interaction, and networking. New to knitting or crochetting? No problem!
Knitters: If the meetup is at Your Daily Fiber, Elaine or Ivy (store owners) will help you learn to knit. Just bring yourself, they have all the supplies you'll need for your first project!
Crocheters: Post a message on the meetup to check if there are any crocheters attending who can help you learn! Again, Your Daily Fiber has all the supplies you need to start your first project.
Note: In order to make sure that the group consists of interested individuals, I delete inactive members every six months or so. Inactive means that you have not visited our meetup website in 3 months or more. Please feel free to sign up again, I just don't want to continue bothering people with emails if they are no longer interested in the group.
Feel the deep peace youÂ’ve been longing for your entire life by experiencing a group Soul Tuning. YouÂ’ll also learn two techniques for improving your energy, quieting your mind, bringing you back to center, and connecting your mind, body, and spirit.
My name is Ken Stone. In the past, I was a Type-A driven personality mortgage lender focused exclusively on the material world. Following an in-residence meditation retreat I was made aware that I have been given a gift much larger than myself. I didn’t ask for it, didn’t intend it. It just happened, or maybe it was always there and I ‘awoke’ to its presence. Since that moment I’ve been going through a process of waking up, my attention moving more and more to the spiritual world.
It turns out I have been blessed with quite a wonderful gift. I connect to the frequency of the Divine and tune the people I’m fortunate to work with to that frequency. The tuning takes three basic steps: First – the soul is tuned. Second, the energy body - including the chakras. Last, the physical body is tuned. When all three are completely in tune, amazing things can start to happen – many times spontaneously – sometimes including the body healing itself in ways that defy logic or rational understanding. Most importantly, the feeling of connectedness returns. And as a result, we return to our native state, in complete sync with the Divine, in a state of complete peace.
I work with clients in individual session in person – and via remote connection, as well as with groups. I’ve started a group healing experience in Fort Collins, and I'm also exploring a tele-group for people who can't make the Fort Collins group. You can sign up for these groups right here at this meetup page.
IÂ’d love to hear from you if you have questions, just want to connect, or if youÂ’d like to schedule time with me.
With Peace and Gratitude,
Ken

Leave your cares on shore and enjoy the beauty of nature and the calming affect of floating on water.
This is a kayaking and canoeing group for women of Northern Colorado who are looking for others to go with on flatwater and calm river excursions. The Fort Collins Flatwater Frogs is geared to the beginning and intermediate paddlers. It is for women who want to enjoy things like, spontaneous swims from the banks, sharing of chocolate, or Noosa yogurt at lunchtime, silently floating in the trees amidst the songs of various birds, and sharing the joy of seeing new places with other sisters of the flat seas...Colorado lakes, reservoirs and calm rivers. This group includes paddles from 2 hours to several hours long. Paddles can be free of charge or up to $14, depending on the location. We try to mix up the locations and days so all can participate. Since we began in 2010, we have hosted nearly 60 paddles and planned several more non-paddling events. We hope that the Frogs serves as a place for individuals to meet others with whom they can paddle whenever they'd like, and as an educational resource for tips about the sport and equipment.
It is best if members have their own boat and women are welcome to ask questions of members about equipment when they are considering purchasing their first kayak or canoe. The goals of this Meet up are to have fun, make new friends, and celebrate nature on the water. We are open to any ideas members have to make this the best and most unFROGettable group around.
So come on gals, grab your boat, paddle, hat, life vest, sunscreen, camera, and hop on over to the Flatwater Frogs lily pad, where we will explore the lakes and reservoirs of the area and provide a lot of fond Frog memories that will leap to your mind when ya have to return to work or land.
There are unique challenges to raising a child in a secular household. Churches offer a sense of community and support that secular families miss out on. This group is an opportunity in Fort Collins for non-religious moms, kids and families to get together, share parenting ideas and have fun!

The Breakfast Club/NCC for Singles 50+ is a social club that provides a safe friendly environment for active single men and women age 50 plus, an opportunity to share like interests and have fun.
The Club is a branch chapter of the Breakfast Club in Denver which has over 400 members. The Breakfast Club is not affiliated with any business, political, religious, or special interest group. The club is designed to meet people in a social setting, make friends, enjoy activities with others, and to have a lot of fun. In addition to a monthly breakfast, club members volunteer to plan, organize, and host activities that occur weekly, monthly, or only occasionally. The Club is formatted after the very successful Breakfast Club in Denver which also has chapters in Castle Rock, Pueblo and Colorado Springs. At present, they are engaged in walking, hiking, skiing, biking, board games, plays, movies, travel excursions, etc. Fort Collins and the surrounding areas currently do not offer anything for us single 50+ folks so we are very excited about this new club.
We have an inaugural dynamic board with Janey Skinner as the President and I serve as the Vice President. Our monthly breakfast meeting is held on the second Saturday of the month at Avogadro's No., on Mason Street with a full buffet just for our group.
Come join us for a breakfast buffet and learn about all the activities planned in the upcoming months.
I just moved back to Colorado after being gone/transferring across the country back and forth with work for 14 years. I was recently part of a Meet-Up group called the Grape Escape in another city that was for all people-mostly over 40. We had such a good time trying different places and tasting different wines with some guidance from a wine guru/restaurant owner/etc. Sometimes we would do dinner; sometimes just a tasting once or twice/month. The purpose of this group would be to get together; learn about different wines from around the World. There are alot of us either returning or moving to Colorado for the first time. People who should join: those that enjoy company with men and women over 40 (married or not) and trying/learning about wines. We can meet at different places between Loveland, Windsor, Ft. Collins, etc. Time suggested=5:30 or 6p until 8p or?
Our goals are simple, we want to develop friendships, share ideas and stories, and provide riding pals for one another. We strive to create an environment where you can meet other local horse owners and riders, gather to talk about breeds and horse-related sports, or saddle up and take a trail ride! We are a casual group of horse lovers, and although most of our organized events are trail rides, sometimes we attend other horse-related activities together (for example, National Western Stock Show or Horse Expo) or have a coffee meeting when the weather is too bad to ride. We are not an officially organized riding group, which means we do not carry group insurance or take responsibility for anyone's safety.
Since most of our events are trail rides, a pre-requisite for membership is horse ownership. If you are not currently a horse owner, this may not be the group for you. There are a variety of organizations in Northern Colorado that provide meetings and training opportunties for all horse lovers or those interested in learning more about horse ownership.
Because this is an informal, "strictly for pleasure" group, we ask that those of you who provide professional services of any sort not use our group and it's contact list for soliciting business.
This 3-minute video will give you a tour of the studio, and some idea of our teaching. We offer gentle, mindfulness-based hatha yoga, and a very healing form of Qi Gong called Chaoyi Fanhuan Qigong.
People who love to practice all styles and forms of dance!

Welcome to Northern Colorado's home for the study and practice of the original Reiki, Usui Reiki Ryoho - traditional Japanese Reiki.
There is a growing interest among practitioners of all lineages to understand where Reiki originally came from and to learn about the original teachings of the founder, Usui Mikao. The aim of this meetup group is to provide a place to learn and grow your practice from the perspective of those original teachings.
Our members are professional and lay Reiki practitioners and teachers interested in promoting Reiki as a complementary wellness therapy.
We encourage the use of the original Japanese teachings and practices for personal growth and spiritual balance in our own lives, as well as helping others to find healing and balance.
We offer information for those interested in pursuing Reiki training for themselves, or in finding a qualified practitioner for professional treatments.
Vision statement: As practitioners of Japanese Reiki, our primary goal is to grow personally and spiritually to be better able to serve as instruments of healing and balance for our students and clients.
Our intention in practicing traditional Reiki:
Embody the Reiki precepts daily: avoid anger and worry, be thankful and humble, always do your best, be kind
Commit to a daily personal practice of meditation and classical energy exercises
Honor Reiki as the source of healing
Work toward being Reiki, not just doing Reiki
Honor a code of ethics such as the Shibumi International Reiki Association Code of Ethics

The Growing Project is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit whose vision is to connect community members to each other, their food, and their land through urban agriculture and community gardening. Our mission is to increase self-reliance by creating a strong, diverse, just, and local food system. The Growing Project has many projects in the works: a CSA for low-income families, multiple community gardens, school gardens, an emergency food rescue effort, shared gardening tools and seeds, kids' summer programs in agriculture...and more!
This Meetup group is only just getting started so please bear with me as I fine tune and add the upcoming volunteering opportunities! If interested in our weekly newsletter, email volunteer@thegrowingproject.org.
Hi! This group is for all of the still single/suddenly single ladies in Fort Collins who need a great group of girlfriends to hang out with. I decided to start this group after becoming single and finding it difficult to fit in with married friends and couples. We're kind of the odd man out sometimes! It's time to expand our circles with new friends that are in a similar situation. If you feel this way, then this group is for you!
What kinds of things will we be doing? Anything and everything! Dinners and drinks around town, going to events like concerts/sports/festivals, game nights, movie nights, outdoor activities, pedicures, shopping outings to Denver...we're open to all kinds of suggestions!
One thing I'm not open to is using this group as a marketing channel for your personal business. I've tried a few other meetup groups whose events seem to center around direct sales parties and that's not for me. Leave the business at work and let's just have fun! I look forward to meeting you!
Women on Bikes is a program that was started by the City of Fort Collins Transportation Department, FC Bikes, and Northern Colorado Outdoors! We are encouraging women from all demographics in the Fort Collins and surrounding communities to get involved and learn more about riding bicycles as a sustainable and healthy way of life.
I started this group to foster a community of people interested in oldtime music in the Fort Collins area.
We will be scheduling monthly group fiddling, harp, and flute workshops, and may also schedule periodic jam sessions.
If you are a traditional musician, or are interested in learning to play, we would love to have you join this meetup group.
Are you a business owner using social media for business? This group is a peer-to-peer round table for owners and employees of any business to educate each other on the latest tools and techniques in social media, and a forum to discuss which strategies are working for you and which aren't. This is a great group of people you can bounce ideas off of and make your strategies even more effective.
WARNING: This is not your traditional Golf League! Most, but not all of us are just beginners in golf, mothers who admittedly want to get away from their families come Sunday afternoon, have no shame in having at least three cocktails on the course and are thrilled about golfing solely on the premises of meeting new sassy women and acquiring a tan. Oh and not having our husbands grunt at us when we hit the ball only 20 yards because we apparently aren't listening.
SWING is a leisure service for women, offering the structure for casual golf leagues and social hours. We move past competition and focus on getting women out of the house to have fun and enhance their golf skills in the process. Women will learn through SWING, golf is accessible and beneficial in making social and business connections.
G.O.L.F (GentlemanOnly Lady's Forbidden), is traditionally viewed as a male dominated past time where business deals are done and careers are advanced. SWING brings those advantages to women in a non-threatening social atmosphere. SWING is a lifestyle, where women can be empowered on the golf course and in business while having a great time doing what they want, where they want.
I hope to see you all soon! CHEERS

Hi there! The purpose of this group is to get a group of 40somethings together at least once a month, to go out dancing. We'll caravan to Denver (rotate designated driver duty so we get home safe) & check out clubs like The Church, Vinyl, and Funky Buddha Lounge. If you loved dancing in your 20s, and still love to dance but maybe don't feel so comfortable dancing in a group of 20-somethings, join us! Be prepared for hip-hop, reggae, electronica; the DJs will be playing the latest.
Another option: if we can find a local venue, we could host our own dance party, featuring tunes from the 80s & 90s, and invite a bunch of other geezers like ourselves, to boogie down with us!
Remember: dancing is a great form of exercise, it's totally fun, and you only live once!

We meet once per month to network and learn from each other. The best part is that there are no membership fees. We are a true FREE real estate networking and educational group. Each meeting will have a short presentation, normally about 20 minutes, then it is open discussions and networking. We lend money to investors and do not have education material to sell so don't worry about a sales pitch. Each Happy Hour is a relaxed and comfortable setting with knowledgeable people and topics. If you have property to sell or services to provide you will get a chance to share it with the group. We look forward to meeting you and have a cocktail while we talk about real estate investing.
A group for IT professionals, system administrators, SQL Server administrators, SharePoint administrators, and information security professionals based in the Northern Colorado area, primarily: Fort Collins, Loveland, Johnstown, Firestone, Frederick, Berthoud, Windsor, and Greeley.
Do you remember when you were a child, and the world seemed to glow with a kind of magic?
How even the simplest activity could be filled with mystery and wonder?
Do you ever wonder what happened to those days?
Let me take a guess as to how you feel these days...
In general, you might say you feel okay sometimes, even happy. But there is an undercurrent of unfulfillment in your life, and if you look hard enough, maybe even desperation.
This feeling manifests as a kind of buzzing, hungry emptiness, or perhaps a general lack of energy or enthusiasm.
Sometimes you're distracted from it by social interaction, or by certain activities that seem to dull the feeling. For example, you may feel fine while talking to people, while watching television, reading a book, eating (especially less healthy foods), smoking, drinking, web-surfing, drugs, or other pursuits. Perhaps you wonder if some of these activities are becoming compulsive for you, but you're not sure.
In any case, while such activities provide relief, you find it is always temporary. Other activities only seem to heighten the sense of meaninglessness in your life. Things like going to work or school, or completing mundane chores seems to get harder every day. Sometimes you even dread going to sleep. At times, you may even find yourself skipping out on your responsibilities entirely because you can no longer stand them.
You're unsure why you feel so incapable of simply enjoying life, but you're beginning to have some sense that you're out of control... And that things are getting worse.
But you don't know what to do about it.
If you see yourself in this description, then there is help to be found...
Join us as we form a community whose goal is to share experience, hope and strength in restoring meaning, wonder, and that touch of childhood magic to our lives.
Look forward to meeting you soon!

3) To enjoy ourselves as much as we can, even when we are not feeling "all that great."
All spiritual paths are welcome. Many of the meetups are free to attend. Once in a while the facilitator of this group, Rachael Jayne Groover, will invite you to the local classes in The Art of Feminine Presence held in Fort Collins and Denver.

Learn Qi Gong, Tai Chi, meditation and other Taoist healing methods. These ancient healing techniques have been used for thousands of years to increase longevity and quality of life. Anyone interested in learning techniques to improve their physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies should join. No previous knowledge or experience required, just a desire to enhance wellbeing. My name is Elizabeth Knapp, I have a background in both Eastern and Western medicine; I have degrees in nursing and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have studied Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Taoism with Master Yun Xiang Tseng, a martial arts master from direct Wu Dang lineage. Practicing Taoist healing arts has transformed my life, and I wish to share these sacred treasures with others.
Poi is a performance art where balls are twirled on string or chain in delightful patterns and dances. Experienced dancers will even light these "poi" on fire, sometimes creating beautiful flowers and glowing designs in the air.
This group is for people interested in learning how to spin poi, or for people who do spin and would like to help others learn, or even just for people who would like to know others in the Fort Collins area to spin with. Poi is a fun, social, art to learn, and it's also fun to teach, and if you are new to poi, we are glad to introduce you to it. If you don't have poi of your own, I have some extra practice sets that you can try, and making your own "sock poi" practice sets is simple.
This group is also open to glowstickers.
Here are some poi videos:

Qigong (chee gong) is the branch of Chinese Medicine which uses gentle mindful exerices and meditation to cultivate and circulate the life force energy, or Qi, within the body for good health, a calm clear mind, and a strong spirit. The particular school of Qigong that will be taught is "Medical Qigong" which is for health and longevity. Qigong has been well researched and proven to be beneficial for many ailments such as osteporosis, alzheimers, arthritis, high blood pressure, etc. Because Qigong is so gentle, and there are so many different ways to "do" Qigong, it is the most accessible health practice available.
The instructor has studied under Dr. Yang Jwing Ming (ymaa.com)for several years. She has studied Qigong Healing with Lisa B O'Shea. Barbara teaches Qigong at several venues in the area. She is a Qigong Healing Therapist and holds a Masters in Metaphysical Science. Looking for people interested in Aikikai style Aikido -- beginners and experienced practitioners welcome. Aikido is a martial art dedicated to resolving conflict by "harmonizing" with the attacker's motion. Typical techniques involve movements designed to off-balance the attacker, finishing with either submission locks or throws. Aikido can be a great compliment (or contrast) to Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and similar striking/kicking arts.
The organizer, Steve O'Hara, is a Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt) who started training in Aikido in 1998 under Ron Christenham Sensei of Sarpy Aikido in Omaha. Sarpy Aikido and its affiliated dojos are part of Aikido Hawaii International (AHI), headed by Robert Kubo Shihan.
AHI is an "Aikikai" affiliated Aikido organization. Aikikai is the original international Aikido organization headed by Moriteru Ueshiba, the grandson of the founder, Morihei Ueshiba.
A small group currently practices once or twice per week at the Fort Collins Senior Center. We are looking for a few more adult individuals interested in learning Aikido or growing their current skills. We are non-competitive and interested only in self-improvement. Dues are minimal, only to offset costs.
Political corruption is becoming the norm in our society. We heard the standard excuse that "all politicians are crooked, and there is nothing we can do about it." We have formed this group to do exactly what they say we can't. We are going to stop the corruption by exposing the corruption. This movement has to start with our local governments and then build up the political ladder until we reach Washington. It is time to put our foot down and say no more. We must once again control our local governments by demanding total financial transparency and demand a true sense of integrity within each elected official.
Recently we sent a letter to the Larimer County Commissioners asking for copies of the financial records and required public documentation concerning a tax-payer funded organization called Pretrial Services. As of this time we have received no response from any of the three County Commissioners. We have decided to post a copy of this letter for public review.
If you are interested in learning about health and wellness in a relaxed and informative setting then this group is for you! The meetings for this group coincide with workshops conducted in our office. The topics provide information and tools on all aspects of health and wellness.

Nondual Dinners are monthly gatherings of people interested in having, deepening, and living from direct, nondual experience or interested in learning what it is all about...over dinner, of course. The event is free to attend, but you have to cover your own food and drinks. These will not be lectures or presentations, they are more social...and no one really talks a lot and dominates the conversation (or his or her food will get cold).
Wagn is a pioneering web tool for organizing online communities created by a Fort Collins-based open source development group. Ward Cunningham, the inventor of the wiki, calls Wagn "one of the freshest contributions to wiki since I coined the term"

Welcome to Addiction Recovery with Consciousness! Please RSVP if you'd like to attend. There are no dues at this phase of the group's development. The only requirements are
1. Intention for quitting your addiction and
2. Openness to new ways of looking at things.
I started this Meetup group to foster a community of beings open to learning about consciousness or currently practicing consciousness as a means for addiction recovery. I'm neither a guru nor a teacher. I'm just a guy who's practicing consciousness in his life and in his recovery. My hope is that we'll form a community to share and explore how this practice can be used as a tool in recovery and transforming our lives.
There's no requirement that you know anything about this consciousness stuff in order to join—rather that you have a desire to overcome your addiction and a willingness to try something new. It doesn't matter what you're addicted to or that it's one of the "standard" addictions, such as drugs or alcohol. Perhaps you're addicted to a person, certain foods, pornography or a lifestyle you're fed up with. It seems most humans in Western society are addicted to something. Whatever your addiction, if you're seeking new resources for ending your suffering, you're welcome here.
Those who have experience with consciousness (i.e., presence, being, awareness, non-duality, etc.) are equally encouraged to join. Perhaps you've read books by Eckhart Tolle or Byron Katie or have tried meditation, Buddhism or non-attachment. This is a place for practitioners all levels, with the express purpose of sharing and gaining insights from one another. Whatever your level of experience, you're welcome here.
Perhaps you've dabbled in this stuff but haven't gotten from the experience what you've hoped for. Sometimes it's a matter of finding a new twist on or different perspective of these concepts in order to discover the sign-post that leads you to awakening. By listening to others' experiences and learning about new books and resources, I hope this group will provide such sign-posts. Whatever your level of questioning, you're welcome here.
This is not a 12-step group for addiction recovery, though it's eminently compatible with any 12-step program. Where 12-step groups focus on specific addictions and are open to all forms of higher power, this group could be thought of as open to all addictions and focused on a specific higher power—the higher power of consciousness. The hope is that, through the sharing of sign-posts and personal experiences of consciousness within a community, we as individuals will awaken to our true nature, end our addictive behavior(s) and experience peace.
Please note that sharing your last name and/or the exact nature of your addiction is always optional. All addictions are the same at their root: They are deeply conditioned desires that have grown beyond our abilities to control them. The details of our addictions are, frankly, not all that important. What is important is to realize that we can end our sufferings and walk new paths.
Hope to meet you soon!
-Jesse, Founder
For many people, modern life doesn't offer enough options to participate in healthy, growth-oriented communities. This is especially true if you are not in a traditional church, don't have young children, and aren't interested in meeting people in bars.
This Meetup group will offer workshops, ongoing groups, and free events to explore this at a personal level, and will aim to support participants in building connections, friendships, and community.
All are welcome. Our groups are particularly targeted for those over 35, where we see the greatest need.

I am starting this group as a way for young widows and widowers to meet and get together to share stories, successes, support each other in figuring out their new "normal" and to laugh and have some fun again.
The purpose of the group is to provide a monthly nonprofit networking, information and resources for Northern Colorado nonprofit organizations. The events are open to Board of Directors, Executive Directors, Staff and Volunteers of all Larimer and Weld County nonprofit organizations. Members of the NCNRC do not pay for monthly networking events.
By combining neuroscience and spirituality principles, I teach members how to bring balance into every aspect of their lives by changing the way they use their minds. This program shows you a whole new way to be. Something similar to it that has a proven track record would be Mindfulness Stress Reduction Therapy or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. This course teaches you how to bring balance into all aspects of your life, not just the ones that are seriously troubling.
Everyone knows that our brains are powerful tools. We have heard that we use only a fraction of our brain power. Regardless of whether or not that is accurate, we can use our brains more effectively. The trick to using our brains more effectively and efficiently, while incorporating more quality into our lives, is in the "how" we use our minds.
In order to effect significant change, it is helpful to understand something about how the mind and how the brain work; learn something about what's going on inside that head of yours. It helps to see what the typical default settings are for the way we think, despite our best efforts and intentions, and then realize why we repeat unwanted behaviors over and over again.
Your entire life changes for the better, long term, once you know how to redirect your brain's activities away from the typical, automatic, reactive behavioral patterns we are all so accustomed to. Surprisingly, it is not difficult to change. With this change, you'll naturally create less problems and suffering for yourself and for those around you. This behavioral change has the added benefits of improved immune function, due to the lowered stress levels, and there's more joy embedded within nearly everything you do.
Creating Balance provides you with the tools to build a strong foundation to support every aspect of your life, every activity, belief, relationship, aspiration, goal, whatever you choose to do during your journey through life, regardless of where you are in that journey now.
You might currently be penniless or a wealthy CEO. You might feel that what you've been doing so far, how you've been living up to now, has not worked for you. Or perhaps you feel you are on top of the world. Regardless, applying these skills, approaching Life from this other perspective, being given this type of knowledge, improves lives way down deep. So, you are already on top of the world? Well, imagine how it would feel to be even more so. People say they wish they had only known this earlier. It's NOT too late.
For me, teaching these principles to whomever I can is a calling and why I feel compelled to share this is obvious; it would be wrong not to. This is teaching, not counseling. Since all aspects of living are touched upon through Creating Balance, there is probably something in it for you and yours. Join! Come with an open and curious mind ready to learn.

Join us each month the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at Pathways to Wellness Suite 6, 134 West Harvard, Ft. Collins, CO. A Oneness Blessing, also known as Deeksha, is a non-denominational phenomenon, which in its varied forms can be transferred by touch or by intent. Typically most people that attend don't push the button on Meetup and there are 10 to 20 people at a gathering.
The Oneness Blessing when given has a neuro-biological affect on the brain, bringing about a shift in perception and experience of life. The process finally lands the seeker in a permanent, incredible state of consciousness. We gather as a community from all faiths and walks of life and share this Blessing. There is no charge (donations are requested) and nothing you need to subscribe to. This is merely your opportunity to experience grace (as you define grace) at a very profound level. Please join your Oneness Trainers Susanne Kind and Buzz Walker, along with your community for an evening of bliss. For further information you may contact us at OnenessBlissUSA@gmail.com
What is Oneness?
Oneness is the natural state of the human being where one is experiencing reality as it is, the reality of the senses, free from the interpretations of the ancient mind. A state whereby the sense of separation has dissolved and one experiences reality as a profound web of connection between all living matter. There is no longer a "me" and a "not me," but rather a division-less flow of the Divine, of intelligence, of love.
The Oneness Blessing is not a religion or set of beliefs, but is a phenomenon in consciousness, which has been revealed to humanity at this critical time in our evolution. The essence of the Oneness phenomenon is that it is the birthright of each and every one of us to live in total and unconditional freedom, in a state where a person is perceiving reality as it is, thereby experiencing the causeless joy, love, and happiness which is the natural condition of the human being. This realization of Oneness, previously reserved for only the most awakened saints and sages, is now available to everyone who has a genuine passion for it.
A Oneness Blessing is a non-denominational experience that awakens our connection with the oneness in everything, allowing each of us to deepen our relationship with those we love, with ourselves, with strangers, and with our creator or higher power. The Oneness Blessing is also found to help in the healing of the body and in the discharge of repetitive emotional patterns, resulting in greater ease and comfort with oneself. In relationships it enables a greater sensitivity and connectedness with the other, freeing you from the limitations of your judgments and conditioning. Success and prosperity begins with consciousness - a capacity to expand your horizon of thinking and an understanding of the universe around you, the principles governing you.
We are looking forward to seeing you at a blessing night AND join the email list to get a newsletter for special events happening each month! Email us at onenessblissusa@gmail.com
Hi everyone!! Well, after browsing the groups and not finding any BBW/BBW Admirers/BHM/Plus Size groups...I decided WE need one! This will be a group for meeting and getting to know other plus size people in NOCO and a chance to get out and do fun stuff together.
Two of my very favorite things in life are dancing and hooping. In the past this has been, for the most part, a solo activity. But I have these great visions of co-creating a hoop dance troupe where everyone brings pieces of their own unique background to the floor where we share advice, tips, ideas, and choreography.
My more recent dance background includes tribal fusion belly dance, which I have managed to combine with my hooping skills. My very distant past began with modern dance, though today it seems to be known as lyrical, and I'm a bit rusty. I've also dabbled in the social dances, salsa in particular. It's amazing how many dance styles can be brought to the hoop.
I am looking for people in all levels of experience, as well as those interested in trying something new and exciting. I know you are out there. Several people have told me about you, but not where to find you. So I am sending out a beacon in hopes that you will receive my message.
If you don't have dance experience, it's okay, because I can teach as well as demonstrate.
I decided to start this group because I recently decided to hold an event here in Fort Collins and I realized I haven't networked enough to get enough people to show up! This is a problem. I assume I am not the only woman out there who likes to mix business with fun, so this is a group where ladies can mix the two. Promote what you are doing locally and invite other strong women to participate.

My name is Chad Parker, and I've been making sterling jewelry for about 18 years, and teaching people how to make it since 2003. I have three levels of classes, beginning, intermediate, and advanced. The classes meet for 4 hours, once per week, and go for 5 weeks. In the beginning class, students create 5 projects, 3 different rings, and two substantially different styles of pendant. The skills taught include, hard silver soldering, bezel setting of stones, shaping and cutting silver, polishing, and jewelry design. Students who complete the beginner class have all the skills to go out on their own and start producing products on their own. The intermediate students make a bracelet, a wide band ring, and a third project of their choosing, while the advanced class focuses on skills like setting faceted stones, both bezel and prong settings, hinges, spinner rings, and other advanced techniques. If you've been wanting to learn to do this, just like trying new things, or this is the next logical step in your jewelry making skills, you should try it!

Does your student struggle with his or her math homework? Are you arguing over who's way of solving problems is right, your's or the teacher's? Wouldn't it be nice if your child thought math was FUN? It's time for a math boot camp for parents! Each Meetup will engage parents with strategies to help their child as well as some time for home-enjoyment review (Really, why should it be homeWORK?)
Who: Parents who want to help their elementary school students with mathematics.
Why: While math hasn't changed much since we were in school... virtually everything else has, including teaching methods, curricula, homework, and expectations
How: Using math strategies from Singapore Math and other World-Class curricula, we'll focus on understanding elementary math concepts. Why do we invert and multiply when dividing fractions? What are we doing when we "borrow" from a number? Why don't kids memorize their multiplication tables anymore?
Bonus: At each Meetup, I'll provide Math-Campers with some handpicked resources that engage students and strengthen their mastery of math facts. We'll play games that focus on mathematics content and discuss your child's homework assignment, so bring them along!
About your host: Cassy Turner is passionate about Singapore Math, the world's leading elementary math curriculum. She has worked with Singapore Math since 2001 as a parent, teacher and, for the past four years, as a nationally recognized Singapore Math trainer and consultant. Cassy believes that every child is capable of achieving success in math. She encourages schools, teachers and parents to create after-school enrichment programs that strengthen students' mastery of math—skills that provide a lifetime of value. These Math clubs are both wildly popular and successful in helping getting students get up to speed. An internet and education technology aficionado, Cassy can recommend math websites and games appropriate for students at every age level.
